A Day In Rec

You might be wondering…what exactly does my kid do all day at Rec? Well we are happy to give you a little insight. 

The kids at Summer Rec will be in a group. The group will consist of students going into the same grade level and they will also have their counselors that will be with them throughout the day. The counselors will take attendance for their group at that time.

One of the directors will speak to the groups. It is an opportunity for us to relay any important information, go over expectations, and try out a few knock knock jokes. Once the meeting is over the groups will start their schedule. Each day the schedule changes and they have different events to go to. Some of the events include Outside adventure, Sports & Rec, Art, Special Events, Game Room and many others. So, you are going to want to prepare yourself for a lot of stories about exciting games and dedicate a space for their amazing creations. This year there are two pools that the students will be going to. Lunch and snack are also built in to their schedule. Counselors stay with their groups all day and make sure that their groups to the right place safely. 

There are going to be opportunities for students to go on field trips. We also know that field trips might not be for everyone. Some of the directors are still getting over their fear of Chuck E. Cheese. If you child does not go on a field trip they will have a normal day at Rec. 

While each day is different our goal remains the same each day – to give the kids a fun and safe experience at Burnt Hills Summer Rec.
